The regular season play for the Vancouver Super League is wrapping up this Sunday, November 12th, at Delview Secondary School.

The season has been very competitive, with the possibility of three teams finishing tied for 3rd place, and the top 2 teams playing each other for the privilege of finishing first. Earning the top spot in the regular season grants that team a bye into the semi-finals.

Every match this weekend has implications for playoff seeding. If Duradek earns the win against Vancouver United in the 4:30 pm match, they will be in the hunt for a 3rd place finish. If Vancouver United wins, they could finish as high as 5th.

Playing in the 6 pm time slot, if Dunbar Cycles wins against Apex Volleyball, they will force a tie-break situation for 3rd. If Apex pulls out the win, they will lock up 3rd place. A great rebound from last year’s result where the team barely missed making playoffs due to a few heartbreaking 5th set losses.

The final match of the evening is a heavy-weight bout featuring GLC and Bridge Athletics, the 2 teams sitting atop the leaderboard. GLC is looking to ruin Bridge’s so-far perfect season by handing them their first loss in the league. Doing so would vault them into the top spot. Bridge Athletics has been highly competitive all season and have no plans to relinquish their standing or playoff advantage.

The league finals will be happening on Sunday, December 3rd, at Delview Secondary. Start planning to come out and watch what promises to be one of the strongest finals of league history!
